Tony, I suspect our research methods are fairly similar. Find a Grave is a wonderful site--very dedicated group of volunteers who are always willing to help.
I've begun seriously researching my father who was KIA at the Battle of the Bulge in WWII and buried in Belgium. There are many Find a Grave volunteers who focus on veterans by leaving notes and offering help.
I was contacted by a very young Belgium soldier who offered to take pictures or do local research for me. In an email, he said that his family had been liberated by the Americans and he is both honored and committed to supporting research and fellow soldiers. Isn't that lovely? Genealogy as it was meant to be!
