If I am reading this correctly, ahd what I'm experiencing, I am VERY disappointed in Ancestry.com's capabilites. By making a tree public, the owner is effectively permiting others to use that information. GEDGOM can have so much more information than just trees. There are citations, notes, facts, etc. If I can't download that GEDGOM online, and instead must manually transfer that information, there is huge potential for error and ommissions. Sorry, I have a life. Ancestsry.com is seemingly missing the the entire purpose of their site on this feature. They are focused only on collecting data - but not easily sharing it with others. Unbelievable. Time for subscibers to awaken Ancestry.com on their lack of vision.
