I lost my FTM 2006 when my laptop with XP operating system crashed. On new laptop with Windows 7, I tried to install my old FTM 2006 disk. It had errors and wouldn't open the Carbonite backup file. I have two or three problems happening at once. Not sure about the Carbonite backup methods, however, it worked before for me. Then, I restored with a new hard drive and not a new laptop and operating system. In short, the Carbonite backed up files that were in XP, I tried to load software for XP, and tried to open family tree with Windows 7. I just don't know what to do. Family Tree sent a list of things to do. I did them and it didn't work. I'm considering now a couple of things. I'll download Windows 6 with update for Windows 7 (my disk is for XP), and I'll call Carbonite and see if they have a earlier version of family tree backed up.
