This recommendation won't be comparing apples to apples, but...if you export a GEDCOM and then import it into Ancestry.com, you'll get an idea for what the data will look like in FTM. (The Ancestry.com import utility is superior, in my opinion, to that used by FTM, but if you'd be using FTM 2012, it won't make a difference because you can download the tree from Ancestry.com).
