I have been debating on starting to use a numbering system, thinking I was going to have to at some point, but after I read your post on how "its just not going to be very valuable dynamically in a tree of over 100 names," I decided to abandon this. With my multiple Mayflower lines, and most of Topsfield names, its just overwhelming. I think I will try to use a number system that just identifies which line came from which primary ancestor, adding on numbers as they lead back, so if I have a 5GG that goes back to Bradford, Chilton, Allerton, etc.. I will use 1.2.3. or so forth. Or heck I may just forget it! Thanks for saving me a waste of time though!
