Hi Jeff, I feel for you moving to the Mac version of FTM and the pain you may well suffer once you start using it.
I moved to the Mac version about 6 months ago and had no end of trouble with sync'ing and unlinking issues. There are many many posts in this forum regarding syncing issues on the Mac version. After months of dealing with FTM support who were quite good, and following all their recommendations I still had issues where I would download a fresh version of my data from Ancestry.com, and then within 24hrs, my tree would unlink for some reason and I would have to go through the pain of it all over again, only for it to unlink again and again. I also noticed that my FTM tree data would sit at about 98Mb in size. The Windows version I my add, is sitting about 25Mb with even more data in it now.
TThe other issue I noticed was that FTM Mac2 is about as feature rich as the Windows version was about 5 versions ago, so it has a long way to go..
Given the size of the data file it would also take a long time to try and sync. What a waste of $99 for the Mac version.
I am now back with the windows version of FTM2012 running in VirtualBox on my Mac. Much more stable and no issues at all. I am now a happy camper.
