Been reading the many threads lately about search and merge problems along with memory leakage and sync crashes. One person suggested that until Ancestry cares, there will be no fixes.
Maybe we need to look at this thru their eyes. Are not the vast majority of Ancestry members non-LDS? Is the reason Ancestry exists is to provide tools and resources so LDS members can build their Trees for religious reasons? Are not the rest of us just paying the freight?
If so, maybe the only way to get Ancestry's attention is the boycott its services. Isn't that about as practical as boycotting high priced gas stations ... we all need gas whether we like it or not.
So then the questions is, is there a competitive replacement set of tools and data sources at a reasonable price and reasonably convenient and reliable to use? I think its hard to compete with the entire package Ancestry offers, so they may have us "subsidizers" over a barrel.
