Greetings all:

When the issue occurs, I decided to check other tabs within Task Manager and it looks like two high-resource-using files/processes seem to be running that affect the CPU, Disk, Memory and Network at the same time: svchost.exe and System. A 3rd shows up under CPU: System Interrupts ... but the noise seems to be coming from a churning Disk, which increases in pitch when more programs are launched. The worst noise and slowness response seems to come when known resource-hog FTM is launched.

Cheers,
Bo
