This was my situation also. My account is at .com. I live in Sweden. I have a World Subscription.
I upgraded through .uk. They automatically opened an account at .uk, gave me a new tree-with just me in it. I had a difficult time trying to figure out how to get back to my regular account. I had the tree installed in FTM 2014 without a problem. but I could not sync it. I finally went to the .uk account and deleted it. (it was the free trial version) I then logged into my .com account and all was fine. The service reps were NOT helpful....of course they did not want to have me delete the account, I am sure. I can see my tree on .uk, .se, .com and I am sure all the others. Ancestry is confusing sometimes.
