The latest update did bring back the ability to see the web from within FTM (Mac) which was a relief. However I have had another instance of sync failure. I resolved this by downloading my Ancestry tree and media into a new FTM tree with a different name and all is well again. This is fine as long as changes are only being made to the Ancestry tree which defeats the whole object of the sync feature of FTM. I still make changes to FTM such as placename editing and that seems to work ok. What I find is if you make changes to a person on both systems then it gets itself confused and you don't always get a resolve window when syncing. Once you get "sync failure" that's it - wouldn't it be nice if it gave you a reason? I hope the whole program is still being worked on with more working features. If this was a CRM database in business it wouldn't get past the first pilot.
