You are correct... did not state that correctly. I have been doing considerable genealogy research, classes, and taking private classes for two years. Knowing that when I retired that I wanted to do a lot of work on our families. I also knew that I wanted my sourcing and data to be correct. Thank you for correcting me. But did use the ancestry on line - the free version, as well as other on line programs before I decided to go to a stand a lone and the fee based programs since when other on-line programs became defunct I lost everything. I did quite a bit of research (but not enough I guess) when I decided to convert to a Mac from my PC. My FTMM crashes the most when I am just merging data from census info and the frustration is considerable. But this forum has been helpful to me and it seems as if it has helped others as well. You seem knowledgeable as well and I hope that others can also learn from your experience. I wish you well.
