Hi Researchers,
I currently use FTM and of course the website here at Ancestry to organise and display family data of known related individuals. I quite like the integration of FTM and Ancestry.
I am looking for suggestions on what people are using as a database program on individuals that may not necessarily be related.
For example, if I were researching the name Smith, I would like some way of entering the data fragments of every Smith I came across for later investigation and comparison, for possible later inclusion into FTM when a relationship was determined.
I know you can enter unrelated people in FTM, but it makes an absolute mess of it's own database and is pretty useless for searching based on close matches.
I thought that maybe I would have to design an Acess database, but surely someone out there must have some solution already.
My other thought was just to create a New Tree in FTM for each name researched ????
Please drop me a few comments.
Thanks
Roland
