I am totally lost. I keep missing something. Perhaps someone can give me step-by-step instructions to deal with my clueless-ness:
I have no software, yet. I have two people who I want to find out if related (not living)and how many different ways. I want to use the GEDCOM button on Rootsweb to download some trees and then match up names in a software program. I simply cannot figure this out. I can't put the pieces together about a gedcom file reader and genealogy software, etc. Like I said, somewhere I am missing a step and I can't find any real printouts/directions for the complete genealogy software novice. Thank you. (And I am not computer illiterate, just in this area)
