software to track photo and email sources

I collect most of my info by way of email and cite it in the records I keep. I've also started keeping photos, some of which are received as part of the emails I mentioned earlier.

Is there software that lets me pull all this info into one self-contained database for use in a genealogy program? I would prefer open source software rather than proprietary software and free if possible.

I currently keep my genealogy email in a separate folder in Microsoft Outlook and my photos scattered in two folders. I use PAF 5 for my genealogy software.

How do you keep track of your family photos? An alternative I've considered would be just to find some type of stand alone family album software, but I'd really like something that would let me put add comments of who, where, when, notes (trivia) and source tied back to email or web sites as appropriate.

Thanks,

John
