Thank you! I have the linking parent down. When I created a descendant chart the lines followed the biology of the child which is exactly what I wanted! The unknown parent did not show up which is perfect too.


But, the father remarried and the wife has a biological child. That child did not show up on the chart. He is not a direct descendant. Is this why? Is there a way to force it?

Can this be adjusted for individuals? For example, my great uncle raised a child of his wife's as his own from the time the child was an infant. I don't want to keep that child from appearing in the chart. This is the one exception I can think of. (See the example below where Sarah Singer has a child that is not George Jones and is not in the report.)

And last, in the descendant report can the word 'unknown' be avoided all together?

+John Smith
+ unknown
2. George Jones (yes, child has her maiden name)
+ Sarah Singer
+ unknown
3. Mike Jones
