Your uploading problem is more with dealing with Ancestry than it is with PAF, so you need to post to the Ancestry forum that deals with Member Trees:

As far as dates for living people, when you export the gedcom, un-check the box "Full information on living" when generating the gedcom. If I remember the criterion correctly, you're considered to be living if you have no death date and you're less than ninety-five years old.
