Derek, thank you again for your thoughtful, wise advice!!

I did e-mail RM support, and they say RM3 CAN work on Windows 7, just that Windows 7 has some peculiarities and won't recognize the program files unless I move them to documents, or something like that. Apparently this happens with both Vista and 7.

So now I think I will try to install RM3 on the Mac, with Windows 7. Only I need to find my RM disk.

I do like your idea of using an Ancestry tree. After one of your earlier posts, I did read up on gedcom, but when I went into RM to do that, I got stuck somewhere. Because I'm not tech savvy, I freak out when I don't which options to choose. (My husband keeps telling me that the computer won't blow up and that I can't do much harm, but I do get nervous when I don't
know what options to choose.)

I'll keep trying.
