There are multiple references to them in the book "Disaster On The Mississippi". They were passengers on the Sultana and were moving north to make a new home. There were from Assumption Parish,Louisiana.
Samuel B. - Died (husband)
Elethia - Died (wife)
Elizabeth - Died (daughter)
Susan- Died (daughter)
Female- Died (daughter)
Dewitt Clinton- Lived (son)
Male- Died (son)
Male- Died (son)
Adeline- Died (niece)
You need to get a copy of the book.
Dewitt Clinton Spikes was rescued and then was credited with saving 14 others, sadly none of the family survived for him to rescue.
