Questions for Newspaper Records

Hi all: just getting back to keying and have received the Ottawa Journal records as my project. I have a couple of questions on keying that I did not see addressed:

1. When keying the records if no specific date of death is given, then I know I should leave that field blank but do I enter the Month and Year? For example, let's say the notice appears in the edition on 27 Dec 1952. Obviously that person did not die on the 27th (had to have died earlier in order for the newspaper publish the death notice). Do I enter just Dec 1952?

2. When entering locations of death, do I enter the state as well? For example, do I enter a location as Atlantic City or as Atlantic City, NJ?

That's it for now. Thanks so much
Nancy
