GARLAND - ... to Mr and Mrs E. G. (Jerry) Garland, a son. Ricki and Marj both well.

It looks as though the father's name is Mr E G Garland, with Jerry being a nickname, so I will just ignore the Jerry. But is Ricki the son and Marj the mother? Or would that be assuming too much, do you think?
