I'm probably overthinking this, but I'm not sure how to handle birth announcements where the marital status of the parents is not mentioned. Instead of "DOE - to John and Jane Doe, a son..." or "DOE - to Mr and Mrs Doe a son..." or even "DOE - to John and Jane (Smith) a son..." it simply says "DOE - to John and Jane a son...". This really only says that the child's last name is Doe - should I imply that they are married and enter the father as John Doe and the mother as Jane Doe? If they are not married, it's not uncommon for the child to carry the Mother's last name rather than the Father's. Should I just enter the parent's first names and leave their last names blank (since we don't know which one is named 'Doe')
