When keying I wondered why they are mostly male names. Very occasionally a female was granted citizenship. I think I found the answer.

In the 1890's images it also gives the status and occupation, residence and at the very end data about the wife and children. For the wife it also gives her maiden name and former names.

I presume if a husband applied for citizenship the wife and children were automatically included.
