So I was keying in marriage records from the Rhode Island vital extracts and have noticed a lack of parent surnames in the records I am keying. For example one has this:
COOK David, of Silas, and Lydia Smith, of Jeremiah; m. by Aaron Arnold, Sept. 23, 1779.
Am I right in thinking that I do not key in Cook for Silas or Smith for Jeremiah and instead leave their surnames blank?
