Minnesota State School and Hospital Records

I just started keying this project and need a second opinion.

The project direction for the Resident City and Resident County says: Key the residence county from the residence information portion of the record as seen on the image using the dictionary provided to assist you.

Am I correct in interpreting this to mean that when a city or county name is misspelled in the record, I should choose the spelling that appears in the drop down list? For instance, if Stearns County is spelled Sterns in the record, do I choose Stearns from the dropdown?

Also, if the name of the city is abbreviated, ie, Mpls, do I key as seen, or assume that the city is Minneapolis and select that from the dropdown?

Thank you for your help.
